We have some new fun in our house. K started her first knitting class at one of our favorite stores, this past Wednesday the lovely gentle teacher showed about 6 homeschooled children how to knit.
We had a rough start, involving ripping out everything she had done for the day and casting on again, but now K's on a roll and knows what she's doing...
They taught using a cute rhyme:
"In through the front door, (R needle through top L loop)
run around the back, (yarn back to front between needles, around front of R needle)
peek through the window, (R needle tip through hole, back to front)
off goes jack!" (loop off L needle)
run around the back, (yarn back to front between needles, around front of R needle)
peek through the window, (R needle tip through hole, back to front)
off goes jack!" (loop off L needle)
(K says it under her breath while she knits)
It's fun having two yarners in the house!
