ice cream and a bang.
After taking my parents to the airport first thing this morning (for their trip to the other side of the world!), I joined Jeff in a day of yardwork and enjoying the gorgeous summer weather. We took a break to walk the few blocks over to the annual Anoka Ice Cream Social, picked up our (free) root beer floats, chatted with the neighbors, then went home to prep to go out again to friends' for the rest of the evening. We have so much fun at Matt and Amy's, and heartily enjoy the gang when we get together there.
This (partially-) Michigan gal was overjoyed when MN relaxed their firework law a few years ago, and took it upon herself (okay, I make Jeff light them) to make sure there's fireworks to cap the evening. It's nostalgia, of course.
It's a happy 4th of July around these parts; we've got the tired, bug-bit, sunned, and content girls (me included) to prove it!
